Staff model good manners and courtesy at all times. Children are polite and considerate of one another and play together harmoniously. Older children enjoy the responsibility of being a 'buddy' to younger children.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Key staff oversee the care of young children, which helps to ensure their safety and well-being. They weave learning opportunities into activities, which helps to complement children's learning in school. For example, they encourage children to keep score during sports games.
Children work out how many more points they need to win the game, showing a good understanding of addition and subtraction.Children are consistently busy and engaged in play. They work together during activities, showing good cooperation and problem-solving skills.
Staff support them to develop rules for games and to adhere to them. Children develop positive attitudes that prepare them well for later life. For example, they negotiate and work out the fairest way to share out clay while making models.
Leaders reflect on their provision and encourage staff to engage in professional development opportunities. This has a positive impact on practice. For example, following a training course, staff have provided more resources to encourage children to use their imaginations and lead their own play.
Children stack and connect large cardboard boxes to create a 'five bedroom hotel'. They are creative learners with very good imaginative skills. There are well established routines and boundaries in place that help children to develop a sense of safety.
For example, staff teach children about road safety on walks between school and the club. Children respond extremely well to staff cues and instructions. For example, when they hear the whistle, they quickly step onto the grass so that staff can allow cars to pass the play area safely.
Children are sensible and responsible and understand how to keep themselves safe.Parents are very complimentary about the club. They appreciate the inclusive environment and approach in the club.
They say that staff know their children well and that they work hard to make sure every child's needs are met. Many parents report that their children come to club on occasions when they do not need childcare, simply because they enjoy attending so much.Staff help children to develop an understanding of healthy lifestyles.
Children enjoy a wide range of healthy snacks and staff encourage them to try new foods. Children remind one another to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated during sports. They have plenty of opportunities for fresh air and exercise that support their good physical health.
They have a good understanding of good hygiene habits, such as handwashing.Children say they 'love Badgers, it's great fun and couldn't be any better'. Staff take account of children's views, suggestions and preferences when planning activities in the club.
