For example, she discusses the importance of providing children with a healthy, balanced diet and ensuring they have daily opportunities to be physically active outside.

• The manager has a confident understanding of the safety and welfa...re requirements around working with children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). She understands safeguarding and wider child protection issues. She demonstrates a very secure knowledge of local procedures for reporting concerns about children's welfare.

• The manager has a positive attitude towards promoting the diversity of cultures within her setting. She knows how to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). • The manager understands the importance of developing partnerships with parents and ensuring they are kept informed of their child's progress.
