What is it like to attend this early years setting?
The provision is outstanding
Children receive exceptional care and education from the highly motivated staff team in this setting.
Staff have the knowledge and skills to continually monitor children's unique learning needs and adapt the curriculum to suit these. Children are very well settled and highly motivated to learn. They ask staff questions to get more information about how to 'ignite' the open fire to cook pitta bread and listen carefully to them.
Staff skilfully observe children at play and identify the key moments that they can step in to introduce new vocabulary or build on the detailed discussions between children to add to thei...r learning experience. Staff are excellent role models for children's behaviour. They demonstrate their high expectations and the setting's 'golden rules' in everything they do.
As a result, children's behaviour is excellent. They invite each other to join in their play and make space for their friends, happily sharing and passing resources. Older children often discuss how they intend to manage complex issues such as how long each of them will spend taking a turn using resources because they understand the value of each having a fair and equal turn.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Managers and staff create a highly ambitious curriculum that builds on what children already know and can do. All staff know the curriculum well and bring it to life for all children. This makes the learning environment stimulating and interesting, and children access learning experiences that excite and engage them.
Staff demonstrate how they sit back, observe and take stock of how children interact with each other and their environment, waiting for the right opportunity to build on the children's learning.Children are highly engaged in activities throughout the day and their behaviour is exemplary. They benefit from warm relationships with staff and their peers.
They initiate conversations with their friends and praise them. For example, they compliment each other, saying, 'Oh, that's a good idea.' Older children explore a range of themes that ignite new interests and promote the development and understanding of complex words.
Staff ask children what they know about the study of dinosaurs. The children eagerly raise their hands to answer and tell the staff that this is called 'palaeontology'. Staff encourage children to explore the science of magnetism by demonstrating using a magnet to move an object.
Children access a range of items and, through their own experiments, determine which items are magnetic.Babies receive exceptional care and attention from their key person. Staff are respectful of babies' feelings and allow them to decide when they are ready to have snack or their nappy changed.
This means that children's learning opportunities continue without interruption. Staff demonstrate how they value babies' voices as they use a range of language to respond to each child as they babble and chatter. This helps the youngest children understand that their voices carry meaning and that when they interact with others, they receive a response.
Children learn about what makes them unique, alongside developing an understanding of diversity and respect for others. They receive visits from authors who talk about different families while celebrating 'Pride week'.Staff in the setting place a strong focus on children's personal, social and emotional development.
Staff encourage children to have a 'can-do' attitude and praise their efforts and achievements. This helps children to feel confident and develop great self-esteem. They say to visitors, 'Wait and see what I can do.'
Leaders and the manager use their own evaluations, as well as the feedback from parents, children, staff and outside agencies, to develop clear action plans. Staff receive bespoke support and coaching to help them carry out their roles and responsibilities effectively and to build even further on their already high-quality teaching skills. Parents speak very highly of the 'magical' experiences their children have at this setting.
They feel included in their children's learning journey.
