Summary of key findings for parents

This provision is goodnStaff complete safety checks of the environment prior to children arriving. If they identify any hazards, they ensure that children do not have access to these until it is safe for them to do so.

This promotes children's safety. nStaff provide a clean and welcoming environment. Children arrive happy and demonstrate a good relationship with staff.

nStaff provide opportunities for children to develop their communication and language skills. For example, they use sign language alongside the words they use when speaking to children. This is particularly effective to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), to help deve...lop their understanding of language.

nStaff supervise children well. For example, when they take children to the park, children use large equipment that helps them to test their physical abilities and staff stand close by to offer support if needed. nStaff offer children healthy foods.

Children experience sociable mealtimes. They sit and talk with their friends and staff. These experiences contribute to their communication skills, health and well-being.

nStaff are well qualified and use their knowledge of childcare to observe and assess children's learning. This helps them to identify what children need to learn next.nChildren make good progress from their starting points in learning.

This includes children who are in receipt of funding and those with SEND.nOccasionally, staff do not plan the layout of resources indoors effectively to provide opportunities for children to make independent choices in their play.nAt times, adult-led activities are not sufficiently well organised to meet the learning needs of the younger children.
