Children respect the clear boundaries. They follow the established systems with support of the experienced and dedicated staff. Communication skills are always promoted.
Staff employ numerous strategies to ensure every child is listened to and able to communicate. Healthy and nutritious meals are provided with careful consideration to include all children. Children are expected to manage their own self-care and personal hygiene routines, where appropriate.Independence is promoted throughout the setting, based on the children's ability.
Key life skills are also taught through the range of outings the children have access to. Staff assess what a child needs to learn next and plan activities to support this. They take children to the shops to teach them about the world around them and their community.
Regular communication takes place with all professionals involved with the children. Staff ensure they have sufficient information before children start, so they can best prepare for them. For example, before a child starts they attend the setting, so the experienced staff can assess their needs and plan how to support them.
