This provision meets requirements Children thoroughly enjoy attending the club. They greet staff enthusiastically and are excited to tell them all about their day at school.

They take part in a wide range of activities that complement what they have been learning at school. Children approach these activities cheerfully and happily. They take part in science experiments, such as creating different paper planes and experimenting to see which one will travel the furthest.

Staff organise the club well to meet the differing needs of children after a busy day at school. For example, they provide cosy indoor areas for children who may be tired and want to play or... rest quietly. They offer lots of opportunities for children who may want to play more energetically outdoors.

Children feel very involved in decision-making at the club. They tell visitors about the suggestions they make for activities and celebrate their achievements on the celebration tree. They state that staff listen well to what they say.

Children report that they feel safe and secure. They are able to clearly explain the rules that they have an active role in developing. They are very confident to talk to visitors and were keen to tell the inspector that they like going to the club very much.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

The manager is very committed to ensuring the club is a safe and happy space for children. She wants them to feel valued and welcome. Parents report that children enjoy attending and sometimes do not want to leave at the end of the day.

Staff are good role models. They are respectful and helpful to each other and the children. Children show the same characteristics.

Children of all ages mix well together. Younger children show they are happy in the company of older children. They are confident to express their opinions.

The manager builds beneficial partnerships with staff at the host school. These are used well to provide continuity to children's care and to meet children's individual needs. Staff provide children with regular opportunities to build further on their learning from school.

For example, staff listen to children read and help with their homework.Children enjoy taking part in the wide range of fun activities on offer. Staff organise sessions well so that children have times when they all come together and also lots of time to follow their own particular interests.

For example, children choose whether to draw, make smelly dough, play board games or build dinosaur homes. They show that they very much enjoy all of these activities.Staff provide children with choices of healthy and nutritious food and children show they like the snacks on offer.

For example, as snack time approaches, children are keen to find out what is on the menu and talk enthusiastically to visitors about the snacks that they have. Children sit at tables to eat with staff and talk positively about the food.Staff keep children safe at the club.

They collect children from the school, ensuring that children are closely supervised as they move into the club environment. There are robust measures in place to ensure that children are closely supervised until collected.Staff enjoy working at the club.

They find the manager helpful and approachable and comment that it is an amazing company to work for. They benefit from regular opportunities to discuss their performance and well-being. More-experienced and qualified staff help less-experienced staff develop their skills.
