The two providers lead their long-serving team with passion and determination to provide a high-quality service. Children arrive at the club after school with energy, enthusiasm and anticipation. They eagerly exchange information with their friends and talk to staff happily about their day.

Children of mixed ages and abilities play freely and harmoniously together. They talk positively about the new friends they make at the club and how much they enjoy attending. Children confirm they feel listened to and valued as staff take time to respond to ...their needs, and provide activities of their choice.

Younger children particularly enjoy completing creative activities. Staff offer a wide range of opportunities for children to paint, draw with charcoal, colour pictures or make their own models from dough. Older children enjoy the opportunities to play sports.

Staff supervise this well, giving children time to burn off energy and relax after the school day.Staff promote a positive atmosphere within the club. They ensure their behaviour expectations are in line with the host school's so that children fully understand these.

Children are kind and respectful to one another. Older children take on roles of responsibility. They help with simple routines and demonstrate positive behaviour and actions to their younger friends.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

Leaders work tirelessly to review their practice and identify ways to constantly improve. They select their team carefully and ensure that all staff are trained well. Team meetings are used especially effectively to reflect on practice, review the provision and identify constant ways to further improve.

The staff team work well together. They appreciate the support they receive from leaders and fully understand their role and responsibility in keeping children safe.Staff organise the club routine well so that children are happy and settled.

They provide a wide range of games for children to play and participate in. Staff recognise those children who prefer to spend time completing quieter activities, such as reading, and provide for these well in less busy areas.Staff meet children's health and dietary needs well.

Leaders have recently thoroughly reviewed the club menu to reduce the sugar content in meals and promote children's oral health. Children enjoy helping themselves to nutritious snacks, such as fresh fruit and wholesome snacks. There is ample time for children to play outside in the fresh air after school.

Children play in small groups with friends, or participate in group games, such as football.Children's safety is given high priority. Robust risk assessments are completed to make sure all areas of the school premises are safe and secure.

Staff communicate clearly with one another as children move from inside the school, to activities outside. This means staff know where children are at all times and supervise them closely. Staff deployment is consistently good and leaders make sure sufficient staff are always available to keep children safe.

Parents confirm how happy they are with the club. One parent summarised the view of many by saying, 'Every school should have a Treehouse like this!' Another parent said, 'My child skips in every time they attend Treehouse.' Parents note the wide range of activities that are always available and confirm how happy their children are.

Leaders and staff make sure that communication is accurately shared between parents and school staff when necessary. There is a good hand-over of information from school staff at the beginning of the club session. Staff work closely with the Reception class teachers.

This ensures information about children's current interests and what they are learning at school is effectively shared and planned for.
