What is it like to attend this early years setting?
This provision meets requirements Children are happy and excited to come to the club. Systems are in place to ensure there is a good handover and staff are informed of any relevant information with regard to the child's day at school. Children are very familiar with the routines when they arrive at the club.
They know where to place their belongings and eagerly get involved in the activities on offer.The friendly staff form positive relationships with children. They dedicate time to talk and play with them.
Staff speak to children in a very caring manner. They are fully aware of children's differing needs and personalities, and provide care accordingly for... all children's ages and abilities. As a result, children engage well in their chosen play.
Children understand behavioural expectations and are very well behaved. They follow instructions promptly and are polite and considerate of others. Children of different ages play well together.
They develop firm friendships. The oldest children are quick to offer assistance to younger children and happily involve them in their games. Children clearly enjoy the company of the staff, who make sure every child is occupied and happy.
What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?
Staff plan well, so that children can follow their interests and build further on projects and creations from their previous time at the club. During sessions, there is a wide variety of activities on offer, including crafts, table top games, team building opportunities and ball games. Children thoroughly enjoy choosing what to do and demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitudes towards their play.
There is lots of conversation and laughter at the club. Children chat confidently to other children, staff and visitors. They say that they enjoy the activities that staff provide.
They especially like making dens to relax in, playing football with friends and staff and small construction activities. Children are encouraged to be polite and speak to visitors with confidence.Staff provide children with plenty of opportunities for fresh air and exercise during their time at the club.
They choose if they would like to play ball games with staff, create dens or climb and balance on apparatus indoors. Children are eager to show adults what they can do, and are highly praised for their success. Staff remain close to children to keep them safe.
Children enjoy the opportunities staff plan to be creative and they take part in a varied range of arts and crafts activities throughout their time at the club. For instance, they create colourful gift bags for their families and friends. Children concentrate and focus on their designs.
They take their time to work on their creations and demonstrate pride in their achievements.Evaluation of the club is effective. The manager and staff reflect on how well the activities were received by the children and what they may do differently.
They involve children in making decisions about what they would like to do while at the club. The managers support staff's well-being and professional development effectively. They have an accurate oversight of the quality of the club.
The staff talk positively about the support they receive from the club managers.Staff generally support children's understanding of healthy lifestyles. They cater well for the children's dietary needs and offer a healthy snack that is thoroughly enjoyed by the children as they enter the club.

Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.Staff have a secure understanding of their responsibility to keep children safe.
They undertake daily risk assessments of the environment to ensure the premises remain secure and any risks or hazards are well managed. Staff teach children how to manage risks safely. For example, they support them to climb carefully on the apparatus and the obstacles that the children have created.
The manager ensures all staff have an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding. Staff are aware of the signs that may indicate a child is at risk of harm and know the procedures to follow to report these concerns. This includes reporting concerns about other members of staff.
