Children arrive highly excited for their day in this exceptionally nurturing and inclusive setting.
Staff warmly greet children, who they know very well. From the moment children start, staff work tirelessly to understand each individual. Children quickly form strong bonds with staff, secure in the knowledge that they are truly understood and valued.
Staff provide children with an abundance of exciting, purposefully planned learning experiences that captivate their interests and promote a love of learning. Children's behaviour is exemplary. Staff have the highest expectations of what all children can achieve. .../> They use their knowledge of the children to keep them focused on their learning, both inside and outside the building. Staff fully promote a sense of pride and responsibility among the children. For instance, they inspire the group of child counsellors to construct and model the playgroup's rules and boundaries.
Staff consistently implement the excellent communication and language curriculum throughout the playgroup. They make excellent use of books, rhymes and meaningful interactions to develop and extend children's use of language. Staff ask well-considered questions to encourage children to think about and describe what they see and experience.
For instance, they ask, 'Why are these two apples not exactly the same?'

Toys and equipment are easy for children to access, and they move around as they choose so that they can investigate and explore.
Children have excellent opportunities for daily fresh air and exercise. They safely follow a one-way system as they excitedly and confidently ride bicycles in the garden. Staff skilfully use this opportunity to teach children about road safety.
Children learn through play activities and high-quality interactions during their exploration. They are expertly supported by experienced staff. Each child benefits from the support of a key person and buddy, who are knowledgeable about their starting points and current interests.
Staff know what to teach, and they skilfully enhance learning through play and daily routines. Staff implement highly effective intervention programmes to help children who need further support.Staff precisely tailor daily routines, such as lunch and snack times, so that children receive continuous challenge to support their independence.
Staff are highly sensitive to children's needs, and they ensure that their play is not interrupted. For instance, they provide flexible routines, which empowers children to decide when they want to eat. Children independently access the dining session when they are ready, using their familiar 'lunch ticket' system.
Children's emotional well-being is promoted consistently. Children are mindful of their feelings and those of their friends. Older children care deeply for the younger children and ensure they are happy in their play.
