This provision meets requirements Children very much enjoy their time at this well-organised and welcoming club. They receive caring and attentive support from staff, who know children's needs and interests very well. Children have good relationships with all the staff at the club.

For example, children enjoy playing 'rock, paper, scissors' with staff, laughing and smiling as they do. Staff are highly responsive to children's needs and show genuine interest in what they have to say. This creates a warm, respectful and fun atmosphere, felt throughout the club.

Children of all ages become deeply absorbed, exploring a variety of exciting activities and resour...ces. For example, children proudly show the inspector the rockets they have created with staff.There is a strong sense of community and belonging at the club.

Children enthusiastically take the inspector's hand and declare, 'Let me show you around'. They are proud of their club and what it has to offer. Staff have clear and concise rules and boundaries.

This helps children to know what is expected of them. Children's behaviour is excellent. They tidy up without prompting and show kindness to their friends and to staff.

Staff provide children with many opportunities to be independent and take responsibility at the club. For example, children show a great deal of pride and care as they wear an apron and gloves to serve the snack to their friends.

What does the early years setting do well and what does it need to do better?

The team leader and staff regularly reflect on their practice so they can monitor what is working well at the club.

They make good use of staff supervision sessions to review practice and how it can be improved. Staff talk about the support they receive from the team leader and leadership team.Leaders place a high priority on staff development and training.

Staff have access to a range of training and development opportunities, to further enhance their knowledge and skills. This ensures the continuous delivery of good-quality care and improves outcomes for children.Children show high levels of care for each other.

Staff are nurturing, calm and intuitive. They are responsive to children's needs and are excellent role models. Staff respond quickly when children need them, and children feel valued and listened to.

This helps them to develop their social and emotional skills. Staff spend a great deal of time learning about children and what makes them unique. This helps staff to know when children may need any extra support throughout the afternoon.

Children follow good hygiene routines and know to wash their hands before they eat. Staff support children to make healthy choices. For instance, they provide a range of different fruit at snack time.

Children enjoy spending time outside. They chase each other, climb, play with balls and create team games. This helps to promote their physical development and well-being.

Staff immerse themselves into the physical activities with children, playing alongside them. There is a real sense of fun and teamwork during these activities.Partnerships between the club and parents and the host school are incredibly strong.

The headteacher of the school comments that she values the strong communication from the club's staff. Parents appreciate the wide range of activities that is provided for the children and mention that their children 'always comes home with something that they have made'. Staff gather regular feedback from parents to gather opinions and suggestions.

They use this information to help them to plan future activities for the club and to consult on parents' views.Staff hold meaningful back-and-forth conversations with children. They sit to listen to what they have to say after a day at school or what plans they have coming up.

Staff have a good understanding of the important role they play after children have been to school.
