This is an outstanding school The inspirational headteacher leads the school exceptionally well.

She has created a harmonious community where pupils are happy, nurtured and achieve highly. Leaders and governors work very well together. Their programme of self-review and evaluation is a real strength, enabling the school to constantly improve.

Teaching across the whole curriculum is outstanding, resulting in high achievement and substantial progress for pupils. The high-quality teaching of mathematics is especially striking. Attainment at the end of key stage 2 is extremely high in reading, writing and mathematics.

Pupils are very well prepared for the... next stage of their education. Disadvantaged pupils make rapid progress. So too do pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The school is rightly focusing on enabling teaching assistants to support these pupils even more effectively. Pupils throughout the school behave exceptionally well. They love learning, attend school regularly and always try their best.

The early years foundation stage provides a highly nurturing environment. Imaginative activities help children develop a love of learning and do exceptionally well. Expert teaching in the special resource base supports pupils' social, emotional and academic development especially well.

Phonics is extremely well taught. Leaders have quickly addressed a slight dip in the achievement of boys in writing so that pupils in key stage 1 make rapid progress. There is a strong culture of safeguarding.

Adults make sure pupils know how to keep themselves safe. Pupils are rightly proud of their school. They take full advantage of the many activities provided and these develop their social, moral, spiritual and cultural understanding very well.

The school roll is increasing. As a result, the school is now larger than the average-sized primary school. It has two classes in each year group up to Year 4 and one in both Years 5 and 6.

A new class is being added each September as the school becomes fully two-form entry. The headteacher and deputy headteacher are new to their posts since the previous inspection. Most pupils are of White British origin.

Around one fifth of pupils speak English as an additional language. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is much smaller than that found in schools nationally. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities is above the national average.

The school has specially resourced provision for 12 pupils who have special educational needs relating to communication and interaction. The school meets requirements on the publication of specified information on its website. The school meets the government floor standards that set out the minimum expectations for primary schools.
