This is an outstanding school.
This is a school that truly gives, 'every child, every chance, every day'. This vision is shared and understood by every member of staff. Staff do all they can to keep pupils safe and happy.
Dedicated leadership of safeguarding makes a difference to the lives of pupils. Leaders have successfully raised standards, especially for disadvantaged pupils. The headteacher is uncompromising in her ambition to achieve the very best for her pupils.
The highly engaging curriculum is enriched by many worthwhile trips and events that broaden pupils' experiences and bring learning to life. Attendance is above average. Pupils enjoy com...ing to school, to be with their friends and to learn exciting new things.
Children have an excellent start to their learning in the early years. A wonderful environment and skilled adults promote learning very well. Pupils thrive at Drayton Park.
They behave extremely well and take on additional responsibilities around the school. Many parents are very positive about the care and education provided for their children. However, there is more work to do to engage some parents more fully, in school life and their children's learning.
The extremely well-thought-out pupil premium strategy has been very effective at raising standards for disadvantaged pupils. Funding has been used creatively so that all pupils benefit from focused and dedicated teaching. Teaching has improved and is now outstanding overall.
Teachers have been highly successful at helping pupils to improve their key skills of reading, writing and mathematics. Pupils make rapid and sustained progress throughout the school. High expectations have led to improved outcomes for all groups of pupils, including the most able.
Governance has improved under the skilled leadership of the chair. Governors hold leaders to account exceptionally well and are highly ambitious for pupils. Subject leaders are playing a prominent role in raising standards.
They are introducing changes to ensure that pupils develop their skills, knowledge and understanding well in a wide range of subjects. Leaders have developed rigorous systems to check that no pupil falls behind in their learning. Additional teaching is provided quickly to help pupils to catch up.
Analysis of progress for different groups could be sharper still to more easily check which need more help.
