Summary of key findings for parents and pupils
This is an outstanding school The headteacher provides clear and highly effective leadership.
This is centred on the importance of each pupil and individuals' success. The school is well organised. Staff understand the school's very high expectations and work hard to make sure that these are achieved.
Their morale is high. There are excellent relationships between staff, parents and pupils. These give pupils the confidence they need to do their best.
Parents are highly supportive of the school. Teaching has improved since the previous inspection. Staff meet regularly to discuss how well their work is helping pupils.
Teachers and other staff v...alue the training which is provided. Teachers and leaders are skilled at identifying extra opportunities which will help individual pupils do even better. Additional teaching is offered if pupils fall behind and to stretch the most able.
Children start at the school in the early years with development typical for their age. Children learn and develop quickly and are very well prepared for their move into key stage 1. Pupils' rapid progress continues as they move through key stages 1 and 2.
This leads to high levels of attainment in reading, writing, mathematics and other subjects. Pupils' attendance is very high. They are very proud to be part of the school.
They behave exceptionally well in lessons and during their playtimes. They are polite and kind to each other. The curriculum provides rich opportunities for pupils' learning.
There is a good balance between reading, writing and mathematics, and other subjects such as science, music and physical education. Pupils' learning is enriched by a wide range of extra-curricular activities. A large number of pupils take part in musical and sports activities.
The early years provision is well led. Leaders are successfully building a new team of staff. The activities provided are closely matched to children's needs.
However, some aspects of the facilities are not as well maintained as possible. Governors are highly effective. They successfully challenge school leaders to improve the school even more.
They fulfil their legal responsibilities and manage the school's finances well. Pupils are looked after extremely well when they are at school. Safeguarding arrangements are robust.
Staff are aware of how to protect pupils from risk including, for example, of contact with people who have extreme views.
