This is an outstanding school Keyham Lodge is an amazing place where pupils make excellent progress in their learning and develop into responsible citizens. The outstanding leadership of the executive headteacher is fundamental to the success of the school.
In partnership with the director of schools, the executive headteacher ensures that pupils receive a high-quality education. Relationships between pupils and staff are exceptionally strong. Pupils trust the staff and, as a result, pupils grow in confidence so that they are able to succeed in all areas of their learning.
All school leaders are uncompromising in their mission to provide the very best educatio...n for pupils. Pupils are at the heart of every decision leaders take. Governors are effective at holding senior leaders to account for the progress pupils make.
They ensure that the school is constantly improving..The staff team have high expectations of what pupils can achieve.
As a result, pupils make outstanding progress in their academic and personal development. Pupils' behaviour improves rapidly during their time at the school. The staff team are highly skilled at supporting pupils to develop the skills needed to manage their anxieties well.
The poor attendance of some pupils slows the progress they make. The quality of teaching that pupils experience during their time at the school is outstanding. Pupils enjoy their lessons and, as a result, achieve well.
Pupils at Keyham Lodge feel safe and are safe. The well-being of pupils is a priority for the staff team. Excellent training is in place for staff, this means that they are well equipped to act quickly if they are concerned about a pupil.

The school is part of the Keyham Lodge and Millgate School federation. The two schools share a governing board, an executive headteacher and a director of schools. The governing board manages boarding provision based at Millgate school.
The school currently uses two alternative providers for a small number of pupils; Trans4m and Pedestrian. The executive headteacher is a national leader of education (NLE) and the director of schools is a specialist leader of education (SLE). There is one other SLE on the staff team.
