This has led to significant improvement since the previous inspection. Leaders have an accurate understanding of the school's strengths and areas to improve. The school's capacity to secure further improvement is strong.

The headteacher has successfully addressed the legacy of underachievement caused by a history of weak teaching and inaccurate assessment. As a result, outcomes for current pupils have significantly improved. The headteacher has effectively driven improvements in the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.
<...br/>Pupils, including the disadvantaged and most able, now make good progress in all year groups. On occasion, pupils require further challenge to ensure that they make the best possible progress. The school's vision for pupils to 'Aspire, Believe, Explore, Achieve', is threaded through all aspects of the school's work and underpins pupils' academic and personal development.

Pupils' behaviour is good in class and at lunch- and breaktimes. Relationships between staff and pupils are strong. Children in the early years get off to a good start.

They settle quickly and thrive as a result of the typically good teaching and high-quality care and support they receive. Pupils develop their skills well in reading, writing and mathematics in a wide range of subjects. Leaders are developing pupils' reasoning and problem-solving skills in mathematics to raise standards further.

The curriculum is carefully planned to engage pupils in a wide range of learning and experiences. The 'Kings' Forest Essentials' effectively support pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. The school works tirelessly to keep pupils safe.

Staff are well trained to identify and effectively address concerns as they arise. Leaders continue to build their skills to provide support for pupils who have complex needs. Personalised interventions support pupils to achieve well and develop self-esteem.

Governors are committed to improving the school's performance. They now need to hold leaders to account even more rigorously to ensure the school's continued improvement.

The school meets the current government floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for pupils' attainment and progress in reading, writing and mathematics at the end of Year 6. The school is larger than the average-sized primary school. Children in the early years (Reception classes) attend full time.

The majority of pupils are White British. The proportion of pupils who are supported by the pupil premium is just below average, although the current Year 6 is well above. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities is just below average.

The proportion of pupils who have a statement of special educational needs or an education, health and care plan is average. The school runs and manages its own breakfast and after-school club. The school works with a group of local schools known as the Nexus Teaching School Alliance.
