Based within an original Victorian college building the LEAP service comprises of six teaching rooms. In addition there is an Information Technology (IT) suite, incorporating a range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment and software, a large drama and movementstudio, an art, pottery and woodwork workshop, facilities for horticultural and a teaching kitchen.

The college offers education provision incorporating academic, vocational, life-skills and leisure curriculum areas. Through assessment of needs and interests, an individual learning programme isdevised for each learner. The college offers a programme which is taught both within the college andwithin the local and wider community to encourage students to g...eneralise their learning.

The aim is to enable them to use their skills in different environments. Courses last for two or three years depending on the needs of the individual learner. The curriculum provides a range of subjects including ICT, horticulture, horse riding, sports, independent living skills, music, pottery, art and drama.

Numeracy, literacy and communication skills are integrated into most curriculum areas. Where appropriate, students are following external accreditation frameworks. There are fewopportunities for work experience.
