Summary of key findings for parents and pupils

This is a good school The headteacher, staff and governors have significantly improved outcomes for pupils since the previous inspection.

The headteacher and her staff work together well and are determined to do the best they can for their pupils. They ensure that pupils flourish both socially and academically. Governors are knowledgeable about the work of the school.

They provide good challenge to other school leaders. Pupils make good progress because they are taught well across the school. In Key Stages 1 and 2, teaching is engaging and helps pupils to develop a love of learning.

English teaching is particularly strong because different groups of p...upils, such as the most able and the disadvantaged, are supported well. In the early years, where provision is good, children are happy and settled. They enjoy their work and make good progress.

Pupils' personal development and welfare is good. They are proud of their school. They feel safe and take good care of each other.

Pupils thoroughly enjoy their work, especially the clubs, visits and special days that help to enrich learning. Pupils behave well. They are polite and courteous and show a good concern for the needs of others.

They develop important values such as tolerance and respect. The school has a very strong partnership with parents. They are extremely supportive of the school.

It is not yet an outstanding school because : In mathematics, work is sometimes too hard or too easy for a few pupils. Pupils do not always take enough care to present their work neatly. Leaders' development planning and their monitoring is not focused sharply enough on ironing out the few remaining inconsistencies in provision.
