Pembroke Dock County Primary School is near the town centre of Pembroke Dock in the Pembrokeshire local authority.

There are 598 pupils on roll aged from 3 to 11 years, in 23 classes. Sixty-two children attend the nursery full-time. Most pupils come from the immediate area.

The school also has two classes in a learning resource base for pupils aged 3 to 11 years old who have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum conditions. These pupils come from across the local authority. Approximately 33% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, which is above the national average.

Nearly all pupils are of white British ethnicity and come from homes where English is the main language. A very few pupils speak Welsh at home. The ...school identifies around 25% of pupils as having additional learning needs, including 10 pupils who have a statement of special educational needs.

In the 12 months prior to the inspection, there was one fixed-term exclusion. The last inspection of the school was in March 2010. The headteacher took up her post in April 2010.

The school is currently a £pioneer school£. This means that it is working with the Welsh Government and other pioneer schools to develop a national model of professional learning and to develop and pilot a new curriculum for Wales. The school also receives additional funding as a £lead creative£ school.
