These help to extend pupils' learning and develop their sense of independence. Many members of the governing body are new. Governors challenge leaders well about most aspects of the school's work.

They receive detailed information about pupils' attainment. However, their ability to hold leaders to account for pupils' progress is limited. This is because the school does not provide clear enough progress information.

Most of the pupil premium funding is well spent. Leaders have recognised that, due to an oversight, some of the funding was not spent appropriately. This has now been rectified.

Pupils in Years 3 and 4 do not get enough chances to write longer pieces of work. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 do not always practise their skills of reasoning and problem solving in mathematics.
