This is a good school Leaders and governors ensure that attainment by the end of key stages 1 and 2 in reading, writing and mathematics have remained above the national average. Senior and middle leaders check the quality of teaching effectively.
They organise relevant training and provide good induction and advice for new staff. Good teaching ensures that pupils make strong progress. Teaching in some classes and subjects enables pupils to make outstanding progress.
Leaders have established a strong culture of safeguarding where staff are vigilant and mindful of the needs of pupils. Adults care deeply about all pupils and have the highest expectations for pupi...ls' behaviour. Consequently, pupils' behaviour and attitudes to learning are exemplary.
Relationships between staff and pupils are excellent. Leaders and governors ensure that pupils' personal development and welfare are at the heart of the school. Pupils enjoy school and attend regularly.
Leaders ensure that children's learning in the early years is outstanding. In the Nursery and Reception classes, children make excellent progress from their starting points. Phonics teaching is highly effective, both in the early years and key stage 1.
The school offers a broad, interesting and engaging curriculum which ensures that pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent, and that pupils thrive. However, systems to assess pupils' understanding and skills, and to track pupils' progress, particularly in the wider curriculum, are not yet securely in place. Teaching across key stages 1 and 2 is consistently good, and most pupils make strong progress across the curriculum.
However, teachers in key stage 2 do not routinely check learning and provide guidance to pupils swiftly enough in mathematics, or set work that is hard enough.
