This is a good school The headteacher and deputy headteacher have created an inclusive and caring culture within the school. The school's motto of 'Learning and Growing Together' is evident in the school's daily practice.

There is a determination the school will continue to be successful as it continues to grow in size. Pupils' conduct and behaviour are exemplary, and they work exceptionally well together. Pupils challenge each other's thinking and learning in a mature and considered manner.

They are extremely polite, courteous and articulate and enjoy welcoming visitors into their school. Pupils are proud of their school. They talk with pride about their lear...ning and the exciting activities teachers provide for them.

Leaders have ensured that the curriculum and the quality of teaching are good. Lessons are typically engaging and exciting. Pupils say teachers make their learning enjoyable.

Although the governing body holds leaders to account well overall, they do not check as rigorously as they could how well leaders use additional funding the school receives for primary physical education (PE) and sport and for disadvantaged pupils. Leaders and governors have ensured that safeguarding is effective. Senior leaders regularly check on the effectiveness of teaching.

They carefully track the progress pupils make and intervene quickly when a pupil falls behind. This helps pupils overall to make good progress. Middle leaders know the strengths and what needs to improve in their subjects.

However, their contribution to further improving the quality of teaching in their subject is limited. Children in the early years receive high-quality teaching and provision. They make very good progress and attain more highly on average than the national average.

At the end of key stage 1, pupils continue to attain more highly than the national average in reading, writing and mathematics. The progress disadvantaged pupils make is getting stronger but they are not yet attaining as well as other pupils nationally. On occasion, teachers do not give them work that is sufficiently matched to their ability.

The teaching of phonics is a strength of the school. Pupils are highly engaged and enjoy learning about letters and sounds. Outcomes in phonics in Year 1 have been consistently above the national average for the last there years.
