Ysgol Cemaes is a rural primary school that is situated in the small village of Cemaes on the northern coast of Anglesey. It serves the village itself and the surrounding area, which is described as being economically disadvantaged.

There are 62 pupils on roll, which is an increase over the last two years. Welsh is the school's main language medium and the aim is to ensure that pupils are completely bilingual by the time they transfer to the secondary sector. Welsh Government statistics indicate that 53% of pupils speak Welsh at home.

However, the school says that 4% come from Welsh-speaking homes. Twenty-five per cent of pupils are entitled to free school meals, which is higher than county and national averages. 2%). A small number of statemented pupils are at the school at present. The current headteacher has been in post since January 2010.
