Ysgol Llandygai is situated in the village of Llandygai, near Bangor in Gwynedd local authority. There are 128 pupils between 3 and 11 years old on roll. Welsh is the main medium of the school's life and work.

The school has five mixed-age classes and one part-time nursery class. The headteacher was appointed to the post in September 2016 and the school was last inspected in May 2012. Over a three-year period, around 18% of pupils have been eligible for free school meals, which is the same as the national percentage.
