Ysgol Gynradd Llanilar serves the village and the surrounding area. There are currently 114 pupils on roll between 4 and 11 years old.

The school has five classes, four of which are mixed-age classes. Approximately 4% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, which is much lower than the national average. Approximately 15% of pupils are on the additional learning needs register, which is lower than the national figure.
