What is it like to attend this early years setting?
This provision meets requirements Children arrive for camp happy and eager to start their session.
The coaches enthusiastically greet them at the door. For children arriving for the first time, the coaches welcome them individually and take them into the base camp area, where they are buddied up with a child of a similar age. Children are familiar with the morning routine.
As they wait for all children to arrive, they happily catch up with their friends or begin a game.During the morning briefing, the camp director welcomes all children and the coaches introduce themselves so children know who they can go to if they need help or support. The camp director ...reiterates the rules and expectations within the camp.
Children are very receptive to these, putting their hands up to show their knowledge and understanding of why certain rules are in place. The camp offers a short-break disability programme, which provides families with respite while their children engage in a range of stimulating and engaging activities with specially trained staff. Children in the programme are included in various aspects of the camp.
