Children are motivated to explore. They quickly find their chosen activities and resources. Younger and older children play well together.
They jointly construct with blocks to create imaginative scenarios, confidently discussing their plans and details with each other. They have fun during group tag games on the field. They are keen to investigate craft activities.
Staff work with the younger children to help them consider the different techniques they may use, and children stay focused for continued p...eriods. They roll marbles in different coloured paint and are fascinated to see the paint mix and the varied effects they create. Staff are kind, thoughtful and conscientious.
They show a genuine interest in children. They take time to chat with them, listening to their ideas and stories and engaging them in conversation. They make sure the children have what they need and are happy at the club.
Staff offer children useful opportunities for them to share their ideas and thoughts. Children enjoy their 'little chat' during group time at the beginning of the session. They discuss their excitement at upcoming events, including the visit to their new school class and a trip at the weekend with their family.
These opportunities beneficially help children recognise and discuss their feelings and build their self-confidence effectively.

Staff are organised and thoughtfully ensure everything is set up for the children's time at the club. Mealtimes are carefully arranged so that children arriving later in the session from school sports clubs also have a snack, to keep them going after a long day at school.
Staff ensure that site procedures are closely followed, and children are kept safe. They think through their use of the areas available and adapt their routines to ensure that the sessions run smoothly.Staff are kind and polite role models.
Children show respect for others and listen to the staff's reminders and explanations on safe practices, adapting their behaviour appropriately. Older children support the younger ones, and they all interact kindly with each other to share resources and take turns in games.Children are suitably involved in club life.
They eagerly help staff and undertake tasks, showing a good sense of responsibility. Children clear away their food items and ensure they keep a track of their bags and belongings. Children like the range of healthy food the staff provide at mealtimes, discussing their preferences confidently.
However, staff often do things for the younger children, such as serving their food or squeezing out paint for them, rather than encouraging children to do this themselves and develop their skills.Staff are attentive to children's health and care needs and ensure children are content and their well-being remains high while at the club. Staff ensure that children are provided with a healthy snacks and drinks.
Children follow good hygiene practices and staff support them closely if they have minor accidents.Staff link closely with school staff, to help them safely and suitably lead the club, as well as gaining information on children to help meet their needs appropriately. Staff liaise with parents about children's individual needs and make sure messages are passed between them all, helping support a consistent approach for children.
