This is a good school The headteacher's strong determination and commitment to raising standards have led to rapid improvements in the quality of teaching following an unsettled period with many staff changes. Governors are highly effective.

They are fully committed and understand their role in improving the quality of education well. They are fully informed about the progress pupils make. They are actively involved in the life of the school and robustly hold leaders to account for the standards pupils achieve.

Teaching, learning and assessment are now good. Consequently, pupils are now making stronger progress in reading, writing and mathematics. Teachers pla...n imaginative lessons.

The broad and interesting curriculum captures the interest of all pupils. Pupils say that learning is 'fun'. Other subjects are taught well.

Pupils enjoy their lessons and get on well with one another. Pupils feel safe in school. The school environment is calm and purposeful.

Safeguarding systems are robustly followed. The core values of the school run through all that it does. These values are well known and understood by pupils.

Most parents are very positive and supportive of the school. They say that their child is safe and happy. A number praise the care and support that their child receives.

Efforts to improve the teaching of mathematics have been successful. Pupils are undertaking more challenging problems and are better able to explain their thinking. There have been strong improvements in pupils' writing.
